This room was once lathered in heavy red silk window treatments, red backed bookcase, cream trim, taupe walls and a dark and dated fan. Being a dark room with no direct sunlight, we removed the window treatment and opted for a modern dark wood blind to allow light in, while lightening the wall paint and panting all trim a crisp white. Bookcase backs were painted a dark tone to make shelf items stand out and give depth. A modern area rug replaces the traditional one and a 5 foot wide chandelier sets the tone for this modernized family room.
